Writing on Blogger by Arabic letters
This article started thanks to Eve who motivated me indirectly to write this. She left a kind comment on our blog, I checked her blog, amazed by her elegant lines, stroked by the fact that Arabic lines are difficult to be configured on Blogger, then I decided to contribute a little to Lebanese bloggers. Again thanks Eve.
Please note that I put many images to illustrate the steps, so be patient while downloading them. I use Internet Explorer 6 and XP, therefore, the instructions may be a little different on your screen, but the logic is the same, thanks to the wonderful job Blogger made.
All the matter hangs on 2 things. Encoding and Direction. You tell the browser of your visitor that you are writing in Arabic, and you want the Arabic to be shown from right to left. To do this you have to tell Blogger's settings about this.
BUT as everything in life, there are always ups and downs in everything. The ups: you will get an elegent Arabic lines and your visitors will get the Arabic lines as it should be. This solution also will be perfect if your entire or most of your blog is in Arabic.
The downs: Your English/French letters will not be shown as you wish. This means that if your article or links are in Times Roman font, there is a big possibility that the article will be shown in Arial font, depends on how your visitor's browser is configured. Even if your entire blog is in Arabic, there is no guarantee that your Arabic Transparent articles will be shown in Arabic Transparent.
Guess what! there is a solution for this, and I promise to write about it later, because just now it will confuse you a little with the current instructions. So, do this first, then when you feel you are sure to go to the next step, write me a message and you will get a reply about how to solve the font thing. Good Luck.
