Site's owner said: LexicOrient was first intended to become a small news agency, building a bridge between Scandinavia (where the founder of LexicOrient, Tore Kjeilen, lives) and North Africa. The company name was in French as this was intended to become one of the two languages in use (the other language was Norwegian)
