حميد عواد - المهندس والاكاديمي والباحث
I thank you very much for appreciating my articles and for disseminating the "breeze" of freedom and the essence of my love for our Homeland that I have instilled in them. Even though my background is a scientific one ( 1-Licence + CAPES en math. de la Faculte de pedagogie UL; 2- Ingenieur TP, de l'ESTP,Paris; 3- Honour Specialist Math from the University of Toronto) I enjoyed a good mastery of the Arabic Literature and was immersed in different cultures.
I lived in Lebanon many turbulent episodes and shared with our compatriots excruciating ordeals. But I never lost hope, I became rather more resilient after each trial and more eager to experience the reversal of the irrational course of events, and to celebrate the re-emergence of the "Free Cultural Haven" and the "Prosperity Hub". I did not want to leave Lebanon because I did not want to miss the awesome moment inaugurating the process of its deliverance while I am away.
Still a "short" trip (summer of 1998) to attend an important event abroad lasted "longer" than I expected and the ensuing developments that unfolded kept me far from our country but in the core of its cause. I have been "releasing" the reflection of my introspection in articles since 1990, and I assumed leading roles (and positions) contributing to the galvanization of the patriotic spirit among the expatriates.
After a long steadfast pursuit of the Lebanese aspirations for restoring the freedom, democracy, sovereignty and independence of Lebanon, active conscientious Lebanese inside our Homeland and abroad coordinated tenacious efforts that led to the birth of SALSRA and UNSCR 1559 which is the long awaited wondrous initiative. Lebanon is re-emerging like a recovering titan!
